The Affordable Warmth obligation component of the Government backed ECO (Energy Companies Obligation) was set up to provide grant funding for home insulation measures and free boiler replacement for low-income and vulnerable families in the United Kingdom.
The scheme is funded by the big six energy suppliers and can mean substantial annual savings by reducing domestic fuel bills, as well as saving around £3000 on the initial install of the boiler, which is supplied and installed free of charge.
To qualify for a boiler grant you must be a home owner, landlord or privately rent a property. Your heating must be mains gas and your boiler must be inefficient, old or broken beyond repair.
To apply for a free boiler replacement you will be asked a number of questions via an online application form relating to your property and income. It is also important to know at the start which type of boiler currently furnaces your central heating & hot water supply.

It is important to know which type of boiler you have due to different qualification criteria for each. Whether or not you are eligible for a free boiler replacement depends on a variety of factors, one of which is the type of boiler you already have. Hopefully this will help with your online boiler grant application.
