Free Boilers Lancaster - gas boiler replacement government grant scheme 2013

Free gas condensing combi boilers are now available in Lancaster under a new Government boiler replacement grant scheme. The Grade A condensing boilers which are energy efficient and reduce gas bills are supplied and installed free of charge if you meet the boiler grant criteria.

The free boiler replacement grants are available via the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) - Affordable Warmth umbrella. Affordable Warmth runs in parallel with the Green Deal home energy loan scheme, and provides grant funding for home energy efficiency products in the Lancaster area and across the UK including new gas condensing boiler upgrades for home owners and private tenants who’s existing central heating boilers do not meet recommended levels of energy efficiency.

Energy Efficient Boilers

The energy efficiency rating system for gas boilers is called SEDBUK (Seasonal Efficiency of Domestic Boilers in the UK). Boilers are assessed and given a rating to help you pick a boiler that is energy-efficient, or see how efficient your existing boiler is.

All boilers made after 2010 are energy efficient - Legislation dictates that all new boilers must be A-rated for energy efficiency, or at least 88% efficient. SEDBUCK Boiler Rating >>

Free Boilers - The Benefits

Energy efficient boilers are one of the main ways to cut down energy usage in the home. Up to 80% of your gas bill is spent on powering your boiler and heating system. If your boiler is old there is a chance that you are wasting a huge chunk of your money.

The new ECO boiler replacement scheme has been put in place to address energy wastage, which affects the environment, in turn causing unnecessarily high domestic energy bills. The Government grant funding for new energy efficient boilers is available for those on benefits, on low income or who live in fuel poverty areas.

Boiler grant qualification

If you meet the Free Boiler Grant qualification criteria for low income households and your existing gas boiler is not of the condensing boiler type - you can have a new, ECO friendly and energy efficient boiler installed for free, saving hundreds each year on domestic energy costs.

About The Free Boilers -

The free boilers installed via the Government Boiler Replacement Scheme are energy efficient gas condensing boilers so at present you must have an existing gas boiler to benefit from an energy grant.

Condensing Boilers

Condensing boilers are designed to heat water with high efficiency. This is achieved by using the waste heat to pre-heat the cold water as it enters the boiler. Condensing boilers may be fueled by gas or oil and are called condensing boilers because the steam produced during combustion is condensed into water, which leaves the system via drainage.

Applying for a replacement boiler is easy and hassle free. Submit your details via our contact form - We’ll ring you back soon, arrange a quick survey by a local Lancaster Boiler surveyor and come and install your new boiler. Usually this will only take two or three weeks.

The new free ECO boiler scheme is designed to enable home energy improvements among those that cannot afford to pay. In addition to the new energy saving boilers, the ECO energy grant scheme offers energy saving products like loft and wall insulation.
